The importance of herbs and herbal medicine in integrated women’s health cannot be underestimated. Herbs have been used since the dawn of time to nourish and support women's health. During the rise of modern pharmaceutical medicine, we sadly forgot lost much of this rich tradition and amazing plant knowledge. However, the use of herbs and herbs as medicine is regaining popularity and herbs can provide us with gentle support and healing capabilities. They can offer a range of phyto-nutrients with immune enhancing, anti-inflammatory and hormone balancing properties qualities.
Sara is a very experienced Medical herbalist (NIMH) who loves to share her knowledge of herbs and teach women to safely use these amazing natural resources to nourish themselves and families. She will guide your exploration into the herb world with information on a range of healing herbs and their actions and useful herbal recipes and practical herb identification.
‘A medical herbalist requires a four year Phytology degree with core lessons in biology and pharmacology, 500 clinical hours and continued accreditation from the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. It’s not easy to become one and, as much as the focus is on nature’s resources, there is a strong grounding in science and research too. We learned a variety of recipes including skincare, health foods and natural tinctures, but we also learned about identifying warning signs in our physical wellbeing.’ Francesa Willow Ethical Unicorn

Nutrition and superfoods
Rather than taking daily vitamin tablets, much of our nutrients can come from organic wholefoods and superfoods (foods super rich in healing nutrients). We aim to teach you to be able to distinguish between facts and hype behind the latest superfoods, and also be able to forage for your own native superfoods ( for free!). We will also teach you specific foods rich in nutrients to support women's needs and hormone balance.
